Gatherings and Discussion Groups

Groups will gather in Glasgow to listen to the seminars together and for informal post-seminar discussions. Details will be available from September, arrangements subject to current government and University guidelines on meetings, travel and social distancing.

Poster Submissions

Dates: 

  • We will accept posters submitted at any time up to 10 November 2021. 
  • Posters will be displayed from August-December 2021. New posters will be added as they are received. Seminars are expected to run from September – December 2021. 

Content:  

  • Recommended Length: approximately 500-800 words, 3-10 illustrations 
  • Topic: Any topic related to the themes of the COP26 meeting, broadly construed. We encourage you to briefly discuss the relevance of your work to these themes explicitly in your poster. 
  • Ethics: In preparing your poster presentation, we ask you to carefully consider the ethical implications and context of your work, including matters related to equality, diversity, sustainability and the ethical conduct of research. To encourage open scholarship practices, we expect you to clearly and consistently recognize the material and intellectual contributions of others to your work through citations or acknowledgements. Submissions should include a clear statement of any ethical issues you investigated or encountered in doing your research and note if the research was the subject of a formal research ethics review process. 

Poster Format Guide:  

  • Language: All E-Posters should be prepared in English. 
  • File format: PDF or .pptx 
  • Size: your file should not exceed 250 MB. Contact us if your file will be larger.
  • Recommended E-Poster size in pixels: 1080 x 1536   
  • Recommended E-Poster size in cm: 38x 54  
  • Font size: ≥16 
  • Fonts: Do not use special fonts which are not part of the standard PowerPoint package, as this will cause problems while uploading your file. 
  • File name: The name of the presentation file should include the presenter’s name and the presentation number. To avoid any compatibility problems, please do not use special characters (e.g. «, Ö, Ø, ñ, ε, ®, ý, }, {, etc.) to name your presentation. 
  • Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI wherever possible. 

If you wish to add a video to your poster, please keep these requirements in mind: 

  • Video formats: .mp4, .mpg, .avi 

Recorded Lightning Talk Submissions

Content:

  • Recommended Length: 5-10 minutes
